Nick: What's going on? I'm Nick

Meg: Uhh Meg
Vinnie: And you guys are from the band Meg and Dia
Nick: [To Meg: What do you want from me?]
Meg: [laughing] I want to shake his hand
Vinnie: Oh hey ...
Meg: Sorry
Vinnie: Oh my gosh hey
Meg: You see that's how you meet people, you know you shake their hand, come on
Vinnie: I know
Nick: You just wanted to shake my hand
Vinnie: I think I needed, I think I needed that helmet
Meg: [laughing] I know I'm not cool enough
Vinnie: So you guys are on tour
Meg: We are
Vinnie: That's so cool
Meg: It's our third day into it and we're touring in the dead of winter so everything's really really freezing. And our booking agent actually came to our first show and I said ' Dave, I refuse to ever play again, if you make me play in Seattle in the middle of January'
Nick: [laughing in the background]
Vinnie: Really?
Meg: Mmmhmm, true story
Vinnie: Wow, hey
Nick: He said, ' Too bad, you're doing it anyways next year' [laughing]
Meg: He gives us no choices, he's a dictator [nick and meg laughing in the background]
Vinnie: Exactly. So guys, we'll be like hearing a few songs from you guys tonight here at the underground in Roseville.
Meg & Nick: Yeah
Vinnie: You guys wanna check out one of the songs?
Meg: Sure
Vinnie: Alright, check it out, it's who?
[Nick & Meg at the same time]
Meg: uhhh, Meg & Dia!
Nick: Meg and Dia
Vinnie: And, and why don't you get the, why doesn't Meg, Dia & Nick?
Nick: It should be, I'll tell you what [Meg & Vinnie laugh]... Nah I'm just kidding. Because Meg & Dia is what it is, we're, we're all Meg & Dias.
Vinnie: There you go. We'll be finding out why it's just Meg and Dia here today on the Vinnie Langdom Show, check it out.
*cuts to song and vinnie re-intro*
Vinnie: So tell us about it, Christmas morning, one day you got a karoke machine and a guitar huh, you and your sister.
Meg: OH! so you know the story!
Vinnie: I do
Meg: Wow! You did your reseach
Vinnie: Yeah, but I came here because I wanted more information, because those one sentences in the biography ...
Meg: dont do much good
Vinnie: Just, just like reading a book ... what?
Meg: ohhhh ohhh
Vinnie: Fitzgerald [Meg still 'ohh' ing] You know, The Great Gatsby's a good book.
Meg: Yeah
Vinnie: I had to do that for a book report
Meg: Oh did you?
Nick: So did I!
Vinnie: And I, I was like, I dont really want to read this cause it like intimidated because it was so long, but it was such a great story
Meg: It was so long? Are you, you, you're being sarcastic right now, right?
Nick: [Laughs]
Meg: Okay
Vinnie: No [Laughs]
Meg: I was like 'Are we thinking of the same book?' [laughs]
Vinnie: Okay, back to the story, Christmas morning
Meg: Back to the story, okay so, I got the karoke machine, Dia got the keyboard and umm, I tried to sing. I sang in a couple of places, I actually had a singing teacher be like, 'Uhhh, she [Dia] sings better than you.' So I was like okay, I'm gonna switch over to the instrument now. And I just started taking lessons and you know, most people have a hard time practicing, but I loved it ... for some reason.
Vinnie: *audio cuts in* ... you guys, your album came out in August
Meg: mmmhmm
Vinnie: What's that called? Something Real?
Meg: Something Real, because it's not fake, it's very real
[Nick laughs]
Vinnie: You can touch the cd ...
Meg: You can touch it, you can feel it
Vinnie: You can put it on your cd player, you can listen to it, yeah?
[Meg & Nick laugh]
Nick: And it's really us playing the instruments, not like, anyone else. That's a good thing
Vinnie: So tell us about you, I mean what? A mechanic and you ran into these girls?
Nick: Uhh, that's exactly right. I can't even believe it. [To Meg] You should tell the story [Meg laughs]... no ummm, Meg wrecked her car, she was going to school at the U[niversity] of U[tah] and I live in Utah. And my family has a body shop out there and she wrecked her car and brought it to me to have it fixed. And uh, that's how we met. I knew who she was and Dia came with her and I was like 'Oh it's Meg & Dia' and I was like 'Can I get a cd? I'm interested in playing with you guys' and they're like 'Yeah, if you buy it' [Vinnie & Meg laugh] And I was like 'Alright I'll buy it!' So I think I was the first person to buy one or something. But ...
Vinnie: Well, well Shouldn't he get like 'the first 100 people that bought one' get something ... extra? Oh, a part in the band, right?
Meg: Hey! [Laughs] yeah perfect! See what better prize than that?
Vinnie: Alright guys, well nice meeting you!
Meg: Nice meeting you too
Vinnie: See ya soon!
Nick: Thank you very much
Vinnie: Check them out again Meg and Dia dot com. We'll see you guys next time on, what show?
Nick: The Vinnie Langdon Show.
Vinnie: yep you got it
[Meg & Nick laugh]
Dia: Thanks for watching The Vinnie Langdon Show and check out the website! |
