So far, Warped Tour has been an interesting experience for Meg and Dia. The pop-punk quintet -- Dia Frampton (vocals), Meg Frampton (guitar/vocals), Nicholas Price (drums), Carlos Gimenez (guitar) and Jonathon Snyder (bass) -- spend their days playing "Guitar Hero," reading and watching other warped tour bands play.
"On our tour bus we carry food, 'Guitar Hero,' beer, paper towels, water, Kleenex, scattered clothes, Nintendo games, 'Ninja Turtle' movies and Crisco," Meg laughingly said.
This will be the second year Meg and Dia have been on Warped Tour, but just one of the many times they have been to Las Cruces.
"It's hot! You're constantly sweating and it makes guitar strings very slippery," Meg said.
Besides Warped Tour, Meg and Dia have started to record their new CD which will be out late next year, but you can catch their video for new song "Roses" on www.youtube.com or at www.myspace.com/megdia. Thee band's song, "Monster," which Meg and Dia believe sums up their sound and style the best, can be caught on their CD "Something Real."
Meg and Dia have been said to be "Literature(ly) involved" with their music, which means, "A lot of our songs are about books," Meg said.
Meg and Dia were inspired to created band after many of their guy friends had their own groups.
"I just kind of wanted to be like them, because I looked up to them, and also there were bands that inspired me like New Found Glory," Meg said. "I guess I just wanted to be like my heroes; plus I really like music," Dia added.
However, Meg and Dia had a rocky start. "Our greatest challenge as a band, would have to be finding the right members," Meg said. "... and not cutting each others heads off," Dia said.
So far, Meg and Dia are doing pretty well with 2,326,510 MySpace page views and 808,162 plays on their songs.
