When they're rocking out onstage at Warped Tour, sisters Meg and Dia Frampton (aka Meg & Dia) are totally in sync. But it took these Utah natives a while to get to that peaceful point. "I remember one incident in particular [when] Meg took out the couch cushions, stuffed me inside, put the cushions back on, and started jumping on it," Dia says. "It's a good thing she was a scrawny little bug back then (and still is!)." But at 18 and 21 years old, Dia and Meg, respectively, have grown up and put their sibling rivalry aside, at least most of the time. "Meg and I still fight a little on who gets the blow dryer first," Dia says. "But at the end of the day, we always have each other's back." There isn't much time to fight when this sister act is on tour. "If I'm not hanging up posters, I'll be passing out flyers. If I'm not passing out flyers, I'll be playing a show. If I'm not playing a show, I'll be cleaning up the tent or waiting in a really long shower line," Dia says. "It's hard to find time to [even] get a good night's sleep!" Luckily, Dia found a few spare minutes to answer our questions.

By Rebecca Silverstein

What bothers you most about being a girl?
Being instantly stereotyped, music-wise. We only get compared to other girl bands (some of which sound nothing like us), just because they also have girl singers. I also hate wearing bras. They are really uncomfortable. I haven't been wearing them on Warped Tour. I just try to wear dark colored tanks and tube tops so you won't be able to tell -- hopefully.

What do you like most about being a girl?
Being able to cry when I'm tired or stressed out. If I were a boy, I'd get so much nonsense about crying.

What's your ultimate karaoke song?
Probably something by Aretha Franklin, Connie Francis, or The Supremes.

Last BF: frog or prince?
A prince. I don't stick around for many frogs; I'm not going to lie.

What's the most important quality in a BF?
[That's] simple -- honesty and intelligence.

If you could be a cartoon character, who would it be and why?
People say my speaking voice would make a great Disney character voice. I think I would be a good fairy voice. I would have killed to play Krista in Fern Gully.

What's the one thing you regret throwing away?
Probably old letters from friends in high school, birthday cards from long ago, and pictures people have drawn [for] me.

What's your biggest pet peeve?
When people classify music. Most musicians will fall into some type of category, but to put an instant label on what you like to listen to is just ignorant. I like it when someone is well-rounded with their music. It's enjoyable to know that there are people whose CD collection goes from At The Drive-In, to Tori Amos, to Every Time I Die, to The Dixie Chicks.

What's your favorite holiday, and why?
I really like Mother's Day and Father's Day. [They] remind me of what amazing parents I have and give me a chance to let them know how much I appreciate them.

What movie makes you cry?
It's really easy to make me cry in movies, but nothing does it to me like Edward Scissorhands and Requiem for a Dream. Big Fish and I'm Not Scared (an Italian foreign film) also get me every time.

Underwear: thong, bikini, or grandma panties?
Lace bikinis.

What's your favorite book, and why?
I really liked Les Miserables, [but] not the abridged version. I hate it when people cut books in half. I really liked the book because it brought life into perspective for me. It gave me a chance to go to Paris without actually going there and experience love with confidence. It also gave me insight on war, but in the book, it actually explains what's going on, so I know exactly what they were fighting for. And what they were fighting for was beautiful.

It'd be OK to be stuck in an elevator with:
Hannah Rosales. She's one of the most unique fashion designers out there. I also wouldn't mind being stuck in an elevator with Ernest Hemingway all day -- I would pick his brain apart!
