MegandDia.org was launched on October 13, 2006 at 3:00am PST because I was bored. No, actually, I started this project up with some particular goals in mind. These goals include promotion, education, information, collection, organization, immortalization, and unification. Yes, lots of -tion words, but the gist is to spread the word about Meg & Dia and provide a repository of Meg & Dia information that is as complete and unbiased, save for my occasional sarcastic remarks, as possible, information for newcomers looking to answer 'Who are Meg & Dia?' as well as reference information for longtime fans.If you want to nitpick, yes, this is a fansite, a definition of which is available at good ol' Wikipedia. MegandDia.org does seem to fit that definition for the most part. However, what is meant by the fan- prefix is not clear. If fan- means made by fans, then that's absolutely correct (I happen to be a fan). If it means for fans, that is also correct--but not exclusively true. In that sense, I much rather we call this site a bandsite, because as much as non-band people come here, it is really for the love of Meg & Dia that they do, and that's what we're all about--propagating that love, and all that other mushy stuff.
That pretty much satisfies a statement of purpose and thus this About page. If you want to know anything else, God forbid something about me, the contact link at the bottom of the site has the most up-to-date contact means. Questions, comments, suggestions, smart-ass remarks, and/or cease-and-desist letters are also welcome. I would like to thank my Meg & Dia colleagues, most of whom can be found on the Meg & Dia message board and of whom there are too many to name, for their support.
